Blake Olson, President

Blake is a 2nd year law student with a B.S. in Political Science and a Certificate in American Indian Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Blake has interned with the National Congress of American Indians in Washington D.C., researched under Professor Ada Deer in the American Indian Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and served as a Summer Associate with Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP in Madison. Blake is from the Stockbridge-Munsee Indian tribe, the only boy of four, with both parents being tribal members. He is also the first of his extended family to pursue an advanced degree and is interested in practicing transactional real estate and business.

Isela Arellano, V.P.
Isela is a 3rd year law student pursuing a joint degree in Latin American studies,with a particular focus in indigenous human rights and land rights in the Americas. She expects to finish her MA in May 2007, and her JD in August 2007. Interests in areas of practice include labor, immigration and Indian law. She has been a clerk at the Madison firm of Hawks Quindel Ehlke & Perry, S.C. since the Spring of 2005.

Tsilos is a 3rd year law student who is focusing on general practice and Federal Indian Law. She is Oneida and Menominee and has BA's in Psychology and American Indian Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (2003).

Rachel Lauesen, Community Liaison
Rachel was born and raised in Alaska and is the oldest of two girls. Her father is Lac du Flambeau Chippewa and her mother is Jewish. She graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a degree in History and Political Science. After graduation Rachel worked for Housevalues.com as an agent coach. Frustrated by her shrinking cubicle size and realizing that she could go further,Rachel decided to attend to University of Wisconsin Madison after a visit the the school. Rachel is interested in practicing Sports Law, Intellectual Property Law, Indian Law, and/or Labor Law. Her interests include dancing, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Carl Williams
is a third year law student at the
University of Wisconsin. Carl will be receiving his J.D. degree in December of 2006. He
was recently the Chair of Legislative Affairs for the
Associated Students of
Madison.
Carl is currently a fellow the Liberty Tree Foundation for the
Democratic Revolution. Carl was a computer applications developer and instructor for fourteen
years in the Boston area prior to law school. Carl was also member of the
Coordinating Committee of
United for Justice with Peace
from 2002 - 2004. He participated in the International Solidarity
Movement's Freedom Summer (2002) in the West Bank (Occupied Palestine). More recently Carl has worked as a student
attorney for the Wisconsin
Innocence Project and the Legal
Defense Program of the University of Wisconsin.
