Projects

The Immigration Project

A new project intended to develop opportunities for law students interested in immigration. Possible activities include community service and a course in Spanish legal terms.

The Labor Project

This is a group with goals inside and outside of the law school. We want to develop greater interest among students and faculty in the study of labor law and worker's rights at the UW Law School. This includes sharing experiences and ideas for a successful job search in the field. We discuss what it means to defend the rights of workers and how to combine organizing and lawyering skills. Our goal in the greater Madison community is to partner with worker's rights groups and unions where there is a need. Many opportunities exist for law students to use their knowledge in the field and gain relevant experiences not found in the law building.

The Social Justice Film Series

Screening documentaries and other movies related to social justice.

The Legal Observer Project

The Legal Observer (LO) project is part of a comprehensive system of legal support coordinated by the NLG designed to enable people to express their political views as fully as possible, without unconstitutional disruption or interference by the government and with the least possible consequences from the criminal justice system. Legal observers maintain neutral, non-participatory roles at demonstrations. Our chapter conducts LO trainings and provides legal observers for local events.
