The Environmental Law Society at the University of Wisconsin Law School is a group dedicated to examining a wide range of environmental and natural resource issues as they intersect with the law and public policy. ELS holds meetings each semester in an effort to engage student discourse. Additionally, ELS hosts and participates in a number of events throughout the Law School, University, and greater community. Some past events include happy hours with members of the Environmental Section of the Wisconsin State Bar and representatives from Midwest Environmental Advocates, presentations on environmental issues by notable speakers, and a group canoe expedition to a nearby state park. ELS provides opportunities for students to get involved, meet others with similar interests and career goals, and to expand their working knowledge of the field of environmental and natural resources law.
