Legal Assistance for Disaster Relief (LADR) matches UW law students with volunteer opportunities at non-profit legal aid firms in areas throughout the country that have been impacted by natural disasters. Over the past eight years, we have developed ties with legal aid organizations in the Gulf Coast, including Biloxi, Miss., and New Orleans, La.
Our law student volunteers give a week of their time to assist dedicated public interest attorneys with post-disaster increases in their caseloads—helping them to effectively meet the needs of individuals who are rebuilding their lives and communities in the wake of devastating storms, floods, tornadoes, and earthquakes.
