Announcing QLaw’s 2011-2012 Book Scholarship!
The QLaw Book Scholarship is a $500 award designed to support a rising 2L or 3L that has significantly contributed to the LGBTQ community, both within the Law School and the greater community. This support comes by helping offset the cost of books during the 2011-2012 academic year.
The scholarship is available to any current 1L or 2L who is in good academic standing and who otherwise receives financial aid. The award is based on a scholarship application essay of 750 words or fewer. (The word limit will be strictly enforced.) Applicants will be asked to describe their contributions to the LGBTQ community and why they deserve the award.
To apply for the scholarship, students must complete the form available here. (Please also see our website page with this information.) The online form will be available until April 6. Once the applications are complete, one QLaw Co-Chair will assign each applicant a random number and file the names and numbers with the other QLaw Co-Chair. The completed applications will then be turned over to the Director of Student Life, Mike Hall, with the applicants’ respective random numbers substituted for their names. Mr. Hall will then evaluate the essays and select a winner. The QLaw Co-Chairs will certify the winner, whose name will be announced at QLaw’s Gala 2011 on April 16.
Please feel free to email q...@qlaw.org with any questions. Good luck!
