About the Journal

The University of Wisconsin Law School publishes the Wisconsin International Law Journal (WILJ) three to four times yearly. WILJ serves as a forum for the discussion and analysis of important and contemporary issues related to international law.

Submissions of Professional Pieces

The journal generally publishes 3-4 professional pieces in its Winter, Spring and Summer issues, and may include 1-2 professional pieces with its annual Symposium Fall Issue.

Articles submitted should involve legal issues which are international or comparative in nature. Articles should address topics that have not been the subject of articles in other academic journals; submissions should be unique, and address new or changing issues in international law.

WILJ welcomes articles on any topic of international law. This includes, but is not limited to, articles addressing issues in intellectual property, criminal law, environmental law, labor and employment law, education, business and securities law, trade law, admiralty and maritime law, and military law.

Submissions should include the author’s professional affiliation, educational background, and publication history. Please address all submissions to the Senior Articles Editor at Electronic submissions should be in Word format. Paper copies may be mailed to:
